GIST: 19 year - old Miss Puerto Rico wins Miss World 2016 ( Photos)

19 - year- old Stephanie Del Valle , representing Puerto Rico won the 66 th edition of the Miss World pageant which held on Sunday , 19 th December, 2016 .

The contest which held in MGM National Habour, Oxon Hill , Maryland , USA had 117 contestants from all over the world vying for the crown which Stephanie ultimately won .

The first runner up was Yaritza Miguelina Reyes Ramirez representing the Dominican Republic , followed by Miss Indonesia , Natasha Mannuela . Miss Philipines and Miss Kenya also made it to the top five .

A shocked Stephanie was crowned by Miss World 2015 , Mireia Lalaguna of Spain . This is the second time Puerto Rico is taking the Miss World crown , the first time being in 1975 when Wilnelia Merced from Puerto Rico won the crown .
