Updates : Instagram Now Hides Total Likes & Views In Posts
Instagram is currently running a test that hides the total number of likes for photos and views for videos in some countries. Although a test, this update is active for locations such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japanand New Zealand.

There is no assurance that Instagram will adopt this test update judging from past experience.
The aim of the micro-media blogging platform is to get users’ reactions and experience from the updates.
Some few updates had been withdrawn in the past after their acceptability turned out low. This might just be a lucky update to stay, we never can tell.
