Gist: Double congratulations as Burnaboy bags two BRIT award nominations [See Details]

A few days after emerging as the biggest winner at the Sound City MVP Awards, self-acclaimed African Giant, Burna Boy has gotten two award nominations at the 2020 BRIT awards. Burna boy alongside Bruce Springsteen, Dermot Kennedy, Tyler The Creator and Post Malone got nominated into the “International Male Solo Artist”category. The talented superstar also has a recognition in the “Song of the year” category from his contributions to Dave’s “Location” song.

Last year, Burna Boy had some major collaborations with British artists like Dave, Mahalia, Jorja Smith, Wretch 32 and Stormzy. Those songs also charted within the top 10 of the Official UK Singles chart. “Own It“, his recently released collaboration with Stormzy and Ed Sheeran still holds the number one spot on the charts.

The BRIT Awards 2020 will be the 40th edition of the British Phonographic Industry’s annual pop music awards. The award is announced to hold on the 18th of February, 2020 and has Jack Whitehall as its host for the third year running.
