The Mambilla Plateau, which lies to the southern edge of Taraba State, is renowned for its rich scenic beauty. It stands at well over 1,830 meters above sea level and has a temperate climate with lush pasture green vegetation. The access route up the Plateau and the canyons is a breath-taking delight, with a snake-like winding road that ascends the Plateau and natural springs that bore through rocks adorn the road.

The existence of Owu Falls is untraceable, but the fall has been described as the highest and most spectacular natural waterfalls in West Africa. The waterfall cascades 330 feet down an escarpment with rocky outcrops to a pool of ice-cold water below which gives a beautiful landscape and offers visitors a refreshing atmosphere.
