COVID - 19 : Plateau State Government receives more donations.

Grand cereals Ltd as part of their cooperate social responsibility has made   efforts in assisting people  following the global outbreak of COVID-19 Pandemic and government regulations which placed restrictions and temporal closure of certain businesses in Plateau State to curb the spread of the disease, Grand Cereal Limited today supplied food items to the Plateau State Government for delivery to the citizens as palliative to cushion the effect the hardship being experienced by the people.

Speaking during the presentation of the items, the Managing Director of Grand Cereals Limited, Mr. Alexander Goma who was accompanied by other top management staff of the organisation lauded the measures put in place by the State Government and how proactive the State has been in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Alexander said being an integrated foods company whose primary activity is the creation of superior value from local raw materials, with leading brands in the Cereals, Vegetable Oil and Animal Feed categories, they deemed it fit to fulfill the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility to the people of the State especially the vulnerable at this critical time.

He charged Plateau State citizens to adhere strictly to all measures employed by Government to stem the spread of the virus.

He said the company will also assist farmers with feeds to boost their yield in this difficult period.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Plateau State Government, Prof. Danladi Abok Atu who also doubles as the Coordinating Secretary of the State Taskforce on COVID-19 appreciated GCL for the kind gesture, supports and show of love to the people of Plateau State.

He said the government will continue to put in place measures that will prevent the virus and contain same should there be an outbreak in the State.

Also in attendance were the Commissioner of Information and Communications, Hon. Daniel Manjang, Commissioner of Health, Dr. Nimkong Ndam, Hon. Pam Bot-Mang and Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Makut simon Macham.

Items donated include 10 tonnes of fortified maize flour, 100 cartons of 2.75 Litres Oil and 400 crates of Eggs from Poultry Farmers Association.
